Forum: Rushmore Message: Principal photography locations Posted by: morning Date: Sat Feb 6 02:49:15 1999 As a native Houstonian, I was delighted to see the movie and identify some of the locations. Yes, the movie was filmed in Houston as many of the signs and landmarks reveal. Here are some of the locations I recognized: ** Delmar Stadium (290 at 610, where they flew kites) ** St. John's School (as Rushmore) ** The cemetary is located just outside of Western Downtown (but burning leaves is illegal in city limits) ** Max's house is located just between Montrose and Downtown ** Ms. Cross's house is in the Museum District ** The barbar shop is located on one of the "nth" strets leading into downtown, although the number was always obscured ** Bill Murray's house is probably in River Oaks or West University True, the movie is not "SET" in Houston, but thankfully, the location was never obscurred. Good job, Wes -- you're welcome back anytime. Abby Rivers ----- Forum: Rushmore Message: Re: Re: Re: Where is the film set? Just wanted to set the record straight. ----- Forum: Rushmore Message: Re: Where is the film set? I love my school, and it was fun to see the filming. ----- |
